Order Number vs Tracking Number: Understand the difference to avoid delays with TEALCA shipping.
One of the most common questions from our customers is what's the difference between an order number and a tracking number?. In this article, we explain it!
In the graphic above, we can easily see the interaction triangle between the customer, the online store, and TEALCA International. Below, we describe each element of this graphic:
Customer: The one who makes the purchase using the methods available at the online store (web orders, phone calls, email, fax, mail orders, etc.), also handling payment for the products —per the store's terms— to finally receive the shipment (previously identified with their personalized code) at the TEALCA warehouse through the international mailbox service.
Online store: Refers to any of the stores available for online shopping (Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Best Buy, Target, Temu, Shein, etc.).
Order Number: A unique number the store provides to keep a detailed record of the products purchased by the customer: agreed price, payment methods, delivery address, and other data needed for the business relationship between the store and the customer. This number is private between the customer and the store, meaning TEALCA cannot use it to track or respond about orders.
Tracking Number: The number with which your orders will be delivered to our facilities. Once the purchase is processed and shipped within the United States, the provider or online store must give you a tracking number assigned by the carrier (UPS, FedEx, DHL, USPS, LaserShip, etc.) with which you can verify the status of the shipment from the store's warehouse to the TEALCA address (only applies to Miami).
Where do I find my tracking number depending on the store?
When we receive your packages at our warehouse, we log the trackings into your mailbox (within 1 to 24 business hours), as long as the tracking is valid. This number is visible to TEALCA and is used to notify the customer of the shipment's arrival at their mailbox.
Guide or Receipt Number: The number assigned by TEALCA to identify your orders and track the movement of your items from our warehouse to their destination in Venezuela. Once the customer requests instructions for their shipment (repacking service, method, insurance system), the shipment gets invoiced so the customer can complete payment, and their packages get dispatched to their final destination.
The order number is private between the customer and the store, and TEALCA cannot use it for tracking. The tracking number is assigned by the carrier (UPS, FedEx, DHL, USPS, LaserShip, etc.) and is visible to TEALCA, since it lets us verify the shipment's status until it reaches our Miami warehouse.
No. The order number is private data between the customer and the online store; TEALCA cannot use it to track or respond about orders.
TEALCA's team logs trackings into your mailbox between 1 and 24 business hours after receiving your packages, as long as the tracking is valid.
It's the number TEALCA assigns to identify your orders and track the movement of your items from the Miami warehouse to their final destination in Venezuela.
