Temblador
Temblador, Monagas, Venezuela
Description
Temblador is a plains town in the southeast of Monagas state, capital of the Libertador municipality and a gateway to the vast lands that stretch toward the Orinoco delta. Settled on the plains of the eastern llanos, Temblador preserves the open, welcoming character of savanna people, forged among cattle ranching, working the land and, more recently, oil activity. Its geographic position makes it an important connection point within the region, with people, goods and opportunities passing through to link this area with the rest of the country.
The Libertador municipality covers an area of 2,402 km² and, according to estimates from the National Institute of Statistics, had a population of around 61,450 inhabitants in 2023 (Wikipedia, «Municipio Libertador (Monagas)», accessed 2026). Its economy rests mainly on extensive livestock ranching and on its location within the Orinoco Petroleum Belt, which gives it particular weight in the productive development of Monagas.
