About this destination

Description

Cúa is a city in Miranda state, capital of the Urdaneta municipality and affectionately known as "The Pearl of the Tuy" for its prominent place within the Valles del Tuy. Its official founding dates to October 6, 1690, under the invocation of Our Lady of the Rosary of Cúa, although its origins trace back to an earlier settlement at the site of Marín, around 1633, later devastated by a powerful earthquake. Inhabited in its beginnings by the Quiriquíres indigenous people and shaped by farmers and ranchers, Cúa has established itself as an important connection point of the Valles del Tuy, alongside towns such as Charallave, Ocumare del Tuy and Santa Teresa del Tuy.
