Chivacoa is one of those towns in Yaracuy where history, faith and productive life come together naturally. As the capital of Bruzual Municipality and heir to the ancient Caquetío settlements, it was founded on February 11, 1695, and has grown into a meeting point recognized throughout Venezuela. Much of its character comes from its closeness to the Montaña de Sorte Natural Monument, linked to the veneration of María Lionza, whose image welcomes those arriving in Chivacoa.
