The Antonio Pinto Salinas Municipality, whose capital is Santa Cruz de Mora, recorded 24,006 inhabitants according to the 2011 Census, representing about 2.90% of the population of Mérida State (INE, «2011 Census», accessed 2026). With an area of 392 km² and a density of 61.24 inhabitants/km², the municipality stands out as an important coffee production center, complemented by a budding tourism industry that takes advantage of its mountain landscapes.
