Santa Cruz de Aragua is a city in Aragua state, capital of the José Ángel Lamas municipality, located in the center-north of the state and fully integrated into the Maracay metropolitan area. Its origin dates back to October 23, 1782, when it was created as an ecclesiastical parish by Bishop Mariano Martí, which gives it a long historical and religious tradition. Known simply as Santa Cruz by its residents, this city combines its colonial heritage with an active industrial and agricultural present, consolidating itself as an important connection point within the Valleys of Aragua.
